What if
They say a lead pencil can write over 50,000 words. Of the many small and simplistic tools that make up the infrastructure of our everyday life, the pencil is certainly one of the most overlooked; many ignore the sheer potential of this common but vital object, and even more abuse it. A single pencil could write an award winning memoir or sketch a masterpiece, yet so many people carelessly snap a pencil in half out of aggravation, leave them to wither slowly at the bottom of desk drawers, or nervously chew away at their pristine surface. Imagine a world where every pencil was put to good use. Perhaps genius would flourish if whenever someone picked up a pencil with intentions to write or do a math equation, they first took a moment to consider all of the marvelous things that could possibly come out of that writing utensil. Every pencil would be celebrated for its crisp, yellow color, its soft and nubbly eraser crowing its top and the soft kk kk sound it makes while consulting the page. Not one person would discard or maim a pencil before it had the chance to write something beautiful.
